ARTICLE
1 / INTRODUCTION:
C.L.I.P. is a language centre, which has been
in existence since 1990. It is located on the border of two
departments, the Landes and the Pyrenées Atlantiques
and a stone's throw away from Spain, which makes ideal place
for anyone who enjoys talking about cultures.
V.G.C. is a part of C.L.I.P., which offers
language training, along with the discovery of these cultures,
via gastronomy and wine tasting.
V.G.C. is a stay of 7 days.
Everything possible is done to ensure the well-being of each
person in his new surroundings.
ARTICLE 2 / THE GROUP :
V.G.C. is for a group of 2 to 6 people, transported by monospace
car.
If, on the other hand, the 2, 3, 4 or 5 people in an already
composed group wish to stay independent at the time of the stay,
they should give notice to C.L.I.P. by phone
or E-Mail, and this before their registration
In this case, the cost will be modified and C.L.I.P. will inform the client of the new tariff as soon as possible.
Finally, if 2, 3 or 4 people wish to remain independent, they
may naturally enquire about being transported in a luxury car.
ARTICLE 3 / THE COURSES :
The V.G.C. courses are lessons in French for Foreigners.
This is not to say that it is not possible for an already composed
group to have a course in Spanish or English.
To take part in a V.G.C. course, be it French, Spanish or English
:
- If a group already made up and of a similar level books a
stay, it can request an introductory or proficiency course.
- If not, it is recommended that people enrolling in V.G.C. have a minimum knowledge of French (or Spanish or English) in
the eventuality that they will be in a group whose members have
some idea of the language.
ARTICLE 4 / MODIFICATION OF PRICES AND/OR ACTIVITIES :
The linguistic centre C.L.I.P. reserves the right to alter its tarifs,
either upwards or downwards, depending on the prevailing economic
fluctuations: tax costs, petrol prices, sudden increases in
the price of the services or the activities which are beyond
the control of C.L.I.P.
On the other hand, C.L.I.P. will not modify
its tarifs 30 days or more before the start of the said course,
if the group of 6 people has already been constituted.
C.L.I.P. undertakes to advise its clients,
as soon as possible, of all bad weather conditions, closures
of sights to be visited or other unforeseen events outside its
control and which make it necessary to modify the list of activities
proposed.
ARTICLE 5 / PAYMENT :
Any registration should be accompanied by a down payment of
30% of the relevant price.
Only when this down payment is received will arrangements start
to be put in place.
The client may cancel the reservation in writing by registered
mail within 10 days after making the reservation.
On the other hand, if this period of retraction is exceeded,
the 30% down payment will be lodged and no refund will be made.
The balance should be paid 30 days before the beginning of the
course.
If the balance is not paid 30 days before the beginning of the
stay, the person will be deemed to have cancelled his stay,
and will not have claim to the 30% down payment.
Any registrations received within 30 days of the commencement
of the stay must be accompanied by the entire fee, duly acknowledged
by signature on the registration form.
ARTICLE 6 / CANCELLATION :
If the cancellation of the stay is more than 30 days before
the start of the same, the client loses his 30% down payment.
If the cancellation takes place within 30 days of the start
of the course. C.L.I.P. will retain as follows
:
Between 30 and 21 days: 50% of total course fees.
Between 20 and 11 days: 75% of total course fees.
Less than 11 days, C.L.I.P. will retain all
fees paid.
ARTICLE 7 / LATE ARRIVAL :
The language school C.L.I.P. will not be held responsible for delays
caused by a third party (airline companies, strikes, acts of
God) or by the client being unable to enter France because he
does not have the required documents.
In this case :
- Either the client arrives during the stay and continues with
the group, if still possible, but will not get any refund whatsoever,
- Or, it is too late to join the group, and the course will
be cancelled, without any refund.
ARTICLE 8 / INSURANCE :
On the one hand, clients are advised to take out insurance against
the cancellation of their trip.
On the other hand, C.L.I.P. cannot be held
responsible for the loss or theft of an article belonging to
a client, whether in the hotel, in the teaching centre or during
any of the various tours.
Finally, every client must take out a civil liability insurance
before his arrival, as well as a personal insurance to cover
possible medical expenses, hospitalisation, repatriation, loss
or theft of property.
Indeed, proof of such insurance will be required at registration.
ARTICLE 9 / FITNESS TO TRAVEL :
Any person in a delicate state of health, or dependent on another,
should contact C.L.I.P. before registering
to ascertain whether he can fully participate in the trips and
use the means of transport available.
ARTICLE 10 / HOTEL :
V.G.C. is a stay which starts on Monday morning and finishes
on Sunday afternoon.
Thus the nights from Sunday evening to the Saturday evening
are included.
ARTICLE 11 / DOMESTIC ANIMALS :
Notwithstanding our affection for animals, clearly they must
be forbidden, in order that the courses, trips and visits may
be smoothly conducted.
ARTICLE 12 / GENERAL BEHAVIOUR :
The language school C.L.I.P. reserves the right to exclude any
person whose behaviour disturbs the other attending students,
habitually arrives late for meetings, and whose behaviour and/or
language is incompatible with the other members in the group.
It is also understood that proper bodily hygiene and attire
are required to insure harmony with fellow students.
ARTICLE 13 / DIFFERENCES OF OPINION :
The linguistic centre C.L.I.P. cannot be held responsible if some
difference of opinion arises between the client and the hotel
and/or the restaurants.
Regarding a disagreement between C.L.I.P. and
the client; if the affair cannot be settled between the parties
on a friendly basis, it will be referred to the DAX tribunal,
as sole competent, for settlement.
